MICROBLADING

What is Microblading? Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure that uses a manual tool to implant pigment into the upper layers of the skin. The outcome of microbladed brows are the illusion of hair strokes, leading to a more natural look.

How is it different from a traditional tattoo? Unlike a traditional tattoo, Microblading does not deposit pigment into the deeper layers of the skin (dermis). Instead, the pigment is implanted into the layers before the dermis, known as the epidermis. Microblading also uses a manual tool that is comprised of micro-needles, usually between 6-14.

How long does it last? Anywhere between 12-24mths and usually about 60% of the strokes will fade while the other 40% will fully disappear. This all depends on a few factors such as physical activities, your skin care routine, sun exposure, and skin type. Over time, sun exposure can cause pigment to lighten. Also, keep in mind that your skin type plays a major role on how well pigment stays in your skin. Extremely oily skin is known to have pigment fade faster than most others.

How long does the procedure take? Between 2-3 hours. Please be prepared to have at least 3 hours blocked off from your schedule.

Does it hurt? Anesthetic cream is applied before and during the procedure to help minimize any discomfort. Some people say there is little to no pain at all, while others say there is some sort of discomfort. Everyone is different!

Can Microblading go over an existing brow tattoo? We can’t determine until you come into the salon for us to fully look at it. There are a lot of considerations to take before we can make the decision to go over existing work.

Is it safe? As with any permanent cosmetic procedure, there are always risks of scarring and infection. Following your aftercare instructions will help prevent any of these from happening. At our salon, we strive in client safety. We use fully disposable tools and do not open new tools until clients are seated and ready for the procedure. Sterilization certificates and MSDS documents are available for our microblading tools and pigments we use.

OMBRE POWDER BROWS

What is Ombre Powder Brow? Powder brow is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure that uses a rotary tattoo pen (similar to a tattoo machine) to implant pigment into the upper layers of the skin. Powder brows give a soft ombre effect and is perfect for anyone who desires a fuller natural look.

How is it different from a traditional tattoo? Even though both traditional and powder brow uses a machine, the outcome is quiet different. Powder brows only deposit pigment into the upper layers of the skin (just like Microblading) while a traditional goes deeper. We do not deposit pigment deep into the epidermis layer because going deeper would risk your eyebrows turning blue — one of the reasons why “traditional” brow tattoos usually changes color overtime. The needle depth, method of shading, and pigment used are what differs Ombre Powder Brows from a traditional brow tattoo.

How long does it last? Powder brows last about 2 years on average.
